Note: Before submitting, please make sure your submission adheres to the following Guidelines. Stories not adhering to these Guidelines will NOT be considered.

Story Topics
We seek stories of your personal experience, or that of family members, friends care givers or spouses. “Voices Of” books feature true stories of literary merit and real emotional impact, stories that give insight, provide inspiration, courage and comfort to those in need.  We also seek stories which might show a lighter side of the challenge.  For examples, please visit the “Publications” page and click on “Read A Story”.

The “Voices Of” books include essays on the science of the illness under discussion by established authorities in the medical or scientific communities; therefore, we ask that those writers who do not meet these criteria avoid prolonged discussion of the medical aspects of the condition in their essays.  If you are an established authority in the science and/or treatment of one of the medical conditions that is the subject of an upcoming volume and you are interested in contributing, please contact us at victor@lachancepublishing.com.

PLEASE NOTE:  We receive hundreds of stories each year.  As a result, it is impossible for us to review and consider stories on diseases or illnesses other than those set forth below.  Additional story topics will be added as we progress through the book series.  The sole exception is stories on care giving, for which any illness is acceptable.

PLEASE NOTE:   We are not accepting poetry at this time.

Dogs
We are seeking TRUE stories of literary merit of how a dog has transformed your life, or the life of someone close to you. Did this remarkable animal provide comfort during an illness? Change your outlook on life, the world, yourself? Note: Rather than stories that are primarily tributes to an adorable animal, we prefer stories that show the deeply transformative effect that a relationship with a dog can have. Our anthology of heartwarming, true stories of 2,000 words or less will dramatically illustrate why the humble dog is called “man’s best friend.”
